Yé-yé

I was listening to some Brigitte Bardot today and ended up listening to some France Gall and then reading her wikipedia and then finding out when she and Serge Gainsbourg worked together he wrote deliberately inappropriate songs for her that had weird double meanings. Like "Les Sucettes" (or, "Lollipops") for example. She was young (16-18) and didn't realize it was happening which is sorta creepy and I wasn't going to listen to "Les Sucettes" until I read that they also purposely surrounded her with props that played up the double meaning. Apparently Gall, after finding out this was going on refused to ever play this song or any of her Gainsbourg written music again and rarely talked about the situation. This was all just too ridiculous, I had to see what all the fuss was about:

France Gall - Les Sucettes

Really??!?! Really, France, you didn't realize what was going on here? Everyone else clearly does. Those girls look like they're going to bust out laughing any second. I'll just take her word for it because I'm not tryna hate too hard on a young girl that felt taken advantage of but... really?
